Not pleased at all!!!! They dont even get the 1 star, but in order to leave a review you have to give a star... First we got to the dentist early and the young girl at the desk said what ya need? RUDELY... I told her we was, early but we had just left another appointment. She said well we are closing for lunch y'all have to come back. So we left and go back and The girl at the front desk said ok My daughter's name is having this done (she named it) I told her I was cancelling her appointment for today and then she got an attitude so I told her She was having some heart issues we would  just reschedule. She then said my son's name is having spacers and a cap put on.  I told her  that we didn't want him getting spacers just the cap, she said well I don't think they can and she got up and went to the back. She sent a girl from the back to me. She said why is Your daughter cancelling so I told her, she had to wear a heart monitor and was having problems. She Said well I will have to get you to sign something bcuz of the insurance if you cancel. I said go get it I will sign it... she never got it... She said so why aren't we doing spacers in your son's mouth, I said bcuz  his daddy and I said so, she said well but he needs them I said no we don't want him having them, she said but this is what it's for and I said yes I know what they are for. We was told the same thing about our daughter  when she was his age and we got a second opinion and that dentist so no way! She said well we need a reason to tell insurance bcuz  we told them he had to have it done and they are gonna want to know  why ... I said you tell them his mom and dad said no.. She said and we need your daughter's cardiologist to send something showing her results, I laughed at her. No I don't think so that's private. She said come on to my son I said his nose is stuffy she said it's ok we will take care of him. Then after they had my son in the back for 45 minutes, I told the girl at the front desk I was going to check on him bcuz  at the first visit they told me I could peek in on him as often as I wanted.  I went to go back to check on him and The girl beat me to the door and shut it in my face.. She was back there for 3 minutes,  when she came out she had another lady come out she shut the door behind her and said  he was done, he fussed but he was better and they was bringing him out. She wouldn't let me go back. Ten minutes later  they brought him to me his face was swollen, around his eyes was big and blue , he had been crying so hard. I looked at the girl and said what did y'all do?  He was here for a cap. She said yes , he forgot to breathe and he fussed a little I said I guess so he is 5. .. She said I think he was scared of the equipment . I said seriously!!! She said well this was something easy and it was real hard on him. I said you think. His face was swollen bad he had  blue and purple all around his eyes, he was so puffy and had little  red dots all over his eyes.I asked if they even used gas and she said yes we did, he is just sensitive to noise and gags. When she walked out he cried so hard he said they was mean to him and he couldn't breathe and they held him down and was fussing at him telling him to quit crying, to stop he was being ugly and That's enough!! I wish I would have gotten pics when we first left the dentist. But I did get pics at 7:20pm 5 hours later and he was still puffy with red dots and purple around his eyes. This morning he is still red and little swollen , purple, and has red dots so I got more pics. He can't talk about the dentist visit without crying. I'm going to take further steps.

(UPDATE FOLLOWS REVIEW) I am new into Alexandria and was looking for a dentist for my 8 and 13 year old girls. I was not going to leave a review originally but today when I realized I wasn't given the courtesy of all of the information I needed I decided to leave my review. The team was overall friendly and welcoming and the work was done quickly but I had a few negative experiences I'd like to share. First, when I called looking for a dentist since we had just moved I checked to see if this business accepted my insurance. Yes, they accepted our insurance but the office worker did not have the courtesy to share with me they were not a preferred provider for my insurance. so, I just received a $420 bill to cover x-rays and cleaning that the tech assured me would be covered. I understand it is my duty as an adult to do that research on my own and I will never make that mistake again, my concern is that the office worker should have been trained to have the decency to tell me I was not 100% covered for cleanings and x-rays if I was not. I have never had to pay anything for cleanings and x-rays for my children before this visit. (PLEASE READ UPDATE at the end of this review) My second concern is in order for a procedure to be done on a child (cavity filled, extraction) a parent is not allowed in the same room only allowed a "peek". I understand the policy and am sure it works but parents need to know they have the right and option to be present, I have always been allowed to sit chair side for any dental work my children had in the past. The same day of this visit I called another local pediatric dentist and they confirmed they allow parents to be present in the same room (not behind a wall, given "peeks" periodically)for all procedures. I will be using that dentist for any fillings and future cleanings my children may need. The third thing I would like to share, It seems there is a new procedure being practiced among dentists where the rubber dentist brush used for cleaning Teeth is no longer used on baby teeth. This policy is acceptable BUT my 8 year old has 8 adult teeth right in the front. The hygienist "brushed" her 8 adult teeth along with her remaining baby teeth with a simple toothbrush they sent home in her treat bag. I could have done that at home for free. I think the hygienist should have used the dentist's electric tools on her adult teeth and the regular brush on the baby teeth but she did not. Again, the people seemed friendly but I experienced some policies and dishonest practices that I have never had to experience before. I will not return to this business to care for my children and I will not recommend them either. If you are looking for a dentist for your child please educate yourself with all of the policies and please know that as a parent you have the right to be with your child when they have any procedures done and there are other pediatric dentists in Alexandria that allow it. (**UPDATE: I was contacted Sept. 13, 2016 by an employee of Alexandria Pediatric Dentistry concerning my statement of $420. She assured me she filed my claim again with the insurance company and that my appointment will in fact be covered 100%. My negative review will be updated when I receive notification of the resolution. I very much appreciate them reaching out to me concerning this.**)
